Important Updates on Aged Care Reforms
Australia’s aged care system is changing with the introduction of a new Aged Care Act and the Support at Home program from 1 November 2025.
These reforms are designed to give you more choice, greater independence, and clearer information about your care.
If you are currently receiving services, there is nothing you need to do right now, your care will continue as usual while changes are introduced.
At The Butler, we are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring you continue to receive personalised, high-quality support tailored to your needs.
Key Updates

This initiative will streamline existing in-home aged care services, such as the Home Care Packages Program and Short-Term Restorative Care Programme, into a single, more accessible system. It aims to improve service delivery, enhance access to equipment and home modifications, and help older Australians stay active and socially connected. Government Funding
& Support at Home Program
We specialise in securing funding to improve the lives of families at home. The Australian Government provides financial support to help older Australians access affordable home care services through Support at Home Program. These services can include everything from clinical support to independence to everyday living.
Once your funding is approved, we will collaborate to maximise your support, ensuring you live comfortably at home and in your community.
-
The Support at Home program was introduced in November 2025, replacing the Home Care Packages Program and the Short-term Restorative Care Programme. It improves access to services, products, equipment, and home modifications to help you remain living independently at home for longer.

Higher Support Level 5 & 6: $30,000 - $60,000
